Seth woke me up this morning at 3:30 because he couldn't sleep. So, we went outside and found snow!!! So, we woke up Savannah and went outside while Steven Braden and Heath slept.

Then Steven got up and went to work and the boys came out to play.

We don't see my neice and nephew very much and they came last week while school was out and spent the night. We watched movies, stayed up late, ate popcorn and played the wii.

We celebrated Thanksgiving the Saturday before with Steven's side of the family. We also celebrated 3 november birthdays -Steven was one of them turning 31. Wow how time flies!!!

We went to my mom's on Thanksgiving Day to celebrate with my side of the family and I didn't take pictures but we had a blast. The guys played cornhole all day til it was either too cold or too dark.

We celebrated Halloween with some friends of ours and their little one was spiderman too. Our spiderman is Seth and he is the one without the jacket with the orange bag. They were running through the house a month before halloween hollering "Spiderman to the rescue and M&M to the rescue. They are just too darn cute!!

We had the 2nd annual spina bifida association halloween party last night.

Seth ran out of the house saying ''Here comes SPIDERMAN" and then Heath was right behind him saying "M & M". Like M & M is a superhero.

Seth went with his kindergarden class to the pumpkin patch in Hayden. He rode a pony all by himself and claimed his own pumpkin by sitting on it. All in all a great day and how nice it is to spend time with 1 child at a time.

Miracle League World Series

We went to the Miracle League World Series yesterday in Cullman.

As you can see from the pictures, it was HOT!!!

They had games from 9am-3pm and our game was at 1pm. They fed us lunch and they also had some carnival type games as well.

We had a blast but we were exhausted by the time we got home.

We went over to our friend's house and we ate some wonderful food and played cards and cornhole. While we played, the kids ran around the backyard and were so hot and sweaty that they had to have a bath before we left. These pictures are from after baths-they got to eat some ice cream. I finally tried sips and strokes this weekend. It was fantastic!!! I was very skeptical. I can barely draw a stick person much less paint something. But they really do take you through each step. It is such a cool thing. Very much a stress reliever. They now have one in Fultondale which is less than 10 minutes from my house, so I'm going to be going quite often. At least until I run out of wall space.

I had the most fantastic mother's day yet. Steven let me sleep late and I woke up to a tv tray with breakfast, coffee, flowers and a book. Then my two boys loaded up in the bed with me to give me my card and hugs and kisses.

Then Steven took the boys and I sat alone ate my breakfast and read my book for about an hour. It was absolutely the best hour I've had in a long time. I guess he has put in quite the brownie points for father's day.

We then headed out to church and then off to see the mother's and grandmother's.

C.A.S.T for Kids

Steven took the boys to a fishing event where they teach children with disabilities how to fish. It was really cool. Steven said when they got in the boat they asked the kids what they wanted to do. If they wanted to fish, they fished. If they wanted to ride in the boat, they rode. If they wanted to drive the boat, they drove.

It rained the whole time but the kids still had a blast.

If anyone is interested, they have this event every year during the first weekend in May.

The "Drug" Plant

Back a couple of months ago, we had a guy who picked our driveway to hide from the cops in and he was unsuccessful and when he realized this he threw his drugs out into the woods in my backyard. Anyways, he came back and apologized and gave me this hanging plant. Some people told me to throw it away-but it was pretty-so I hung it up on the backporch.

Now a couple of weeks ago-we noticed lots of birds around it so we looked in it and we found 6 little bird eggs. So now I tap the side of the pot before I water it-and usually a birdie flies out.

So, who knew our drug plant would become a birds nest?????

But Mom I'm 5 years old!!!

I was washing dishes the other day and Seth pulled up a chair and wanted to watch. He then asks me to let him do it, "Moma I can do it all by myself because I'm 5 years old", so by all means go right ahead. I scooted his chair over and put his hands in and showed him how.

Wow, it sure is hard to watch your baby grow up. And growing up he is and quickly. :(

Feels like Summer

Seth's 5th Birthday Party

Seth wanted a camping party with his friends Lucas and Logan. So we invited some close friends and family and we had a campfire, smores and a hot dog roast.

Baseball Time

The Miracle Field is now open in Gardendale. Yeah!!! It is less than 10 minutes from our house and it is for anyone adult or child with disabilities.

Seth is all about baseball right now so of course he was in heaven. But both boys and the whole extended family that was there really enjoyed it.

They will play every Friday night at 6:30pm if anyone is interested in coming to watch them play.

Steven is also going to be assistant coach. So that should be really fun to watch-since I've only seen him actually playing before not coaching.

Each player has a buddy that helps them hit and run the bases. Heath's buddy is Clay. Heath and Clay are in the same class at school. Clay's dad even stayed to help and be Seth's buddy.

We are ultimately going to paint our cabinets and change our knobs on our cabinets to match but for now-It will work very nicely.

Donated matierals from a local Birmingham company, several club organizations & about 40 plus volunteers later-we have a ramp. Yeah!!!

It was unbelievable to see happen before our eyes. These people were so nice. We are even contemplating joining the local Gardendale chapter of the Civitan Club.

I can't wait for Heath to use the ramp Monday to get on the bus. He can get in his wheelchair in the house and go all the way to the end of the driveway without me having to pick him up. Just a little push and pull here and there beats picking up 50 plus pounds of Heath twice a day.

God is so good. You just have to give him time and in his time he will answer your prayers no matter how big or small you think they are.

Mom & Dad took the boys to see the movers last Saturday at the Alabama Theatre.

They got to do a meet & greet after the show and the boys had wrote two of the movers a letter and in one of the pictures you can see them reading the letters. Pretty cool!!

They had a great time as you can see from the pictures. I'm just glad we are past the Wiggles. Then again I'm not sure which one is more annoying when you hear it constantly all day. :)

I love the rain when you can just listen to it and not have to get out in it.
But, since Heath has been riding the bus. I really hate it when it is raining.
I have to throw a poncho over him. At first all I had was an adult poncho and it is hanging everywhere. Then I have to tuck it in places so he can actually wheel himself in his chair.
We finally got a child sized poncho and it is heaven compared to what we had. But all in all, Heath gets on the bus dry and that is a feat in itself. Not to mention, he also has his backpack hanging on the back of his chair.

Well we are getting ready for Christmas. It is so much fun with a new house.
We have the tree up. Just lights right now. I like decorating it as a family. And we have been a little busy. Then, today Steven decided to get the outside ready and the boys wanted to help. Steven took Heath up the ladder onto the roof and ended up on his butt. So, needless to say Seth didn't get a chance to go up and he is letting us know every minute.
Then, to make matters worse while trying to put the lights on the house-a strand falls off the side of the house and hits the sidewalk and busts most of the lights. So, lights on the house are in pause mode.

On Friday when we got to GA, we celebrated birthdays. It was Steven's 30th birthday on Friday and Stephanie and Summer's birthdays were a few weeks before. Steven's brother Scott and his wife Meredith made Steven a game called corn hole. Meredith sewed the little corn bags and together they pulled the wooden boxes together. It was very cool except for the fact that it has a big AU on the front. Oh well. Roll Tide!!!

Cleveland, GA

While in Cleveland, GA for Thanksgiving, we decided to visit the home of the cabbage patch kids. There was a hospital that we toured. The nurseries, adoption rooms, nurses and the big cabbage tree where a doctor actually pulled a baby from the cabbage. The boys didn't know what to think. It was interesting for me because I had cabbage patch kids as a little girl. The guys were really good sports about it. But all in all it was really neat. They had a little festival outside of the hospital where they had ponies to ride, bungee cords, a big jumping thing and a lawnmover turned into a train. Heath actually wanted to ride a pony and shockingly he enjoyed it. The boys cousin Summer who is only 3 decides she wants to do the bungee jump. She had ball. Her face was priceless.

Oh and above all, the life size cabbage patch dolls were a little strange. Especially for the boys, who had no idea who they were but they were good sports and had a great time.

Horne Thanksgiving

This year we decided to have the Horne Thanksgiving in Cleveland, GA. It was a good halfway point for everyone to meet. Steven's mom brought us all matching pj's. They were really cute and comfortable so we ended up wearing them almost the whole trip, so we were nice and cozy the whole time. We stayed in a log cabin that had a waterfall overlooking the balcony, a hot tub and a pool table. It was lots of fun.

Yesterday was our 9 year anniversary. Mom and Dad watched the kids while we went to Stix for some japenese food and a dinner to ourselves. When we got home, the boys were bathed and fed. Wow, don't ya just love grandparents.

Ok, so now back to 2 kids who can't walk. URGH!!!!!!

So, we went to the jumping place (Froggy's in Hayden) and we were there for about 25 minutes when he came up to me saying his toe hurt. He has had a sore on his toe so I thought I would check his toe out. I was expecting blood everywhere if he was saying it hurt because he can't feel from his knees down. I took off his brace and looked at his toe and it looked fine but he was still complaining and wouldn't put any pressure on it. So, we go eat some lunch and when I get home I take off his shoes and braces and low and behold his lower leg was swollen. So, I knew something wasn't right.

Well, we ended up going to the ER because his pediatrician and orthopedic doctor were out of the office. After spending all Friday afternoon in the ER, we were told he broke both his small and large bone in the front of his right leg. He has to keep the large cast on for 2 weeks and then a short one for 4 weeks.

It will definately be interesting keeping this little man down. Whoa!!

2008 Golf Tournament

We had our annual golf tournament to benefit the spina bifida association of Alabama on Saturday. It was a rainy mess but everyone showed up and gave to this wonderful cause.

Through sponsorship and golfers, we were able to raise $7000 for the association. This money will go into a fund to help families like ours attend the spina bifida association's national conference each year. Thank you to everyone who helped us with this event. We could not have done it without you.

Tucson, Arizona

Ok, for those of you that didn't know. We went to Tucson Arizona for the annual spina bifida conference. Last year it was in Louisville Kentucky and boy is Arizona a long way from Alabama. We didn't think we would like Arizona. We thought we would be hot and miserable and have 2 kids feeling the same. But, it was amazing. There was no grass just lots of dirt and rocks. The humidity is only 5% so it was actually very comfortable outside even if it was 95 degrees at midnight. Which by the way was when our flight landed in Tucson. Long story lots of layovers and delays. You also don't sweat. The air takes in your sweat before you can sweat it out. You have to drink so much water it is ridiculous. Then that meant lots of bathroom breaks. Steven also got to play a round of golf and he loved it. He got to see lots of neat animals like rabbits and roadrunners. And the favorite part of his trip was he saw Michael Bolton at the golf course. And yes he waved like he was a fan or something. Anyways, we absolutely loved Arizona and we will definately be going back.

This was sitting outside on the large patio looking out at downtown Tucson in the distance. They had these huge pocket doors that they opened in the evening so it was a indoor/outdoor space. It was pretty cool.

This was the lazy river and slide. None of us are in the picture but you get the idea. They had intertubes that you could ride double or single. The boys couldn't ride them because they were made of latex so we floated around on noodles. But, one of the days while the boys were at camp me and Steven floated around the river about 3 times and went down the slide by ourselves. Lots of fun!!!

This was the view from the bridge that connected the hotel to the meeting rooms. It was unreal how big cactus' get. The ones on the golf course actually had huge holes in them from previous golfers.

Heath had missed all week of school and was just feeling ok enough to go to the graduation on Friday morning. So, when he received his diploma and everyone clapped well he lost it and started crying. :( At least he felt ok to come. Granny & PawPaw took him (and us minus Seth) to Jack's afterwards. So, now my baby is now officially a first grader. :(

Seth's 4th Birthday

Ok, so Seth's birthday was Tuesday the 29th. We had him a little party at school with all his "friends". Then took him to McDonalds for dinner (thanks grandma & grandpa for the gift card) and let him play on the playground. Then, we had him a party at the park yesterday. It started out raining and I thought we were going to have a party with it raining and everyone underneath the small park pavillion but nevertheless the sun started shining and it turned out to be a gorgeous day. Also, Steven (with a little help from his dad) built Seth a playhouse. I have attached all kinds of pictures so enjoy.

Talladega

I went with "the guys" to Talladega today. My uncle, my dad and my cousin came and got me this morning and we met up with 3 more of my cousins and 2 more uncles. I was the only girl but I had a blast!! We got to watch qualifying for Sunday's race (which are the pictures of my two guys: Truex Jr & Dale Jr) and the Nationwide race. Dale Jr didn't win but WOW it was so much fun. We also got to go to the hospitality village, walk through the pits and we got a couple of FREE Amp Energy drinks. I had never had them before and they were actually pretty good.

My PartyLite Trip to Kentucky/Ohio

I flew into Louisville, KY Friday afternoon. Then drove with some other PartyLite consultants to Cincinatti, OH to a multi regional conference. We had free product giveaways, entertainment (the guys in the orange shirts) plus lots of training. Plus there was a snow storm while I was there and it was a little bit cold for this Alabama girl.

We finally got some snow. We have been in our house for over 4 years and this was our first time to see any kind of winter weather. Heath has been sick since Wednesday with swollen tonsils and a bad head cold. Steven worked this morning but me and Seth got to play in the snow as it came down. But, when Steven got home from work-Seth helped him build a snowman. Heath watched from the back door. I'm not sure you can call it a snowman but regardless-this is our first family snowman.

Heath and Seth over at Susu & Papaw's on Christmas Day. We had to get a picture of their matching vests from their great grandmother and grandfather from Florida.
